Our Beach Goat Yoga class with baby goats experience is usually about two hours long. When you first get here there will be a quick waiver to sign, then you can hang out with the goats until everyone has arrived. I will do a tour of Lil Goat Town and answer any goat questions you might have and we will start the yoga class with the baby goats about thirty minutes after the start time. We will already have the yoga mats supplied for and out ready for you so yours don’t get ruined. The goats love to chew on things, especially my brand-new mats! The “cocoa pebbles” will just roll off and if they decide to tinkle, we will grab you another mat. The yoga instructor will begin the class and I will bring in the goats for some yoga. They are always happy to see people in their sand box. They will jump on you or go under you. They will lay with you or snuggle you. They can pick someone and play king or queen of the mountain (you being the mountain). The class itself is about 45 minutes of yoga. It will be all your choice on how much participation you want to do. You can put your heart and soul into it or just play or meditate with a baby goat on your lap. Trust me the goats don’t judge! When the class is over you are welcome to sit around and relax, take pictures, cuddle, play, or be their jungle gym. This is why my yoga classes are close to two hours. When you book a class take in consideration the time so you won’t feel like you are in a hurry or late for something else. I want you to leave with a peaceful feeling and a lot of joy and love in your heart. You will also get a small goat milk soap bar to take home with you. It is made with 100% fresh raw goats milk from our mommas right here from Lil Goat Town.
Beach Goat Yoga? Is that really a thing? If I only had a penny for every time that I’ve heard someone say that! Yes, it is a real thing, and it truly quite beautiful as well. When we first began building the farm, I wanted to share my goats with everyone. The goats helped out my family so much I began questioning how I could do this for everyone else. I pondered the idea of having a petting zoo but I couldn’t have a petting zoo with just goats. I wanted people to experience the joy of goats so I looked into animal therapy but that just wasn’t quite for me. When I heard about Beach Goat Yoga in Oregon all I could think of was how brilliant that idea was. This would allow me to invite people to come share the company of my goats in a peaceful experience with yoga. We were already foster parents so I thought this would be a divine opportunity to help foster kids enjoy this experience, as I knew this would be very beneficial for them as well. So, my mind was finally set and I knew exactly want I wanted to do. The only problem was that we had such a mess from all the building that we had done. As a result, it took us a lot longer to get started than we anticipated. The whole family and even the animals pitched in to help and get it done. Once the order of 20 tons of sand came in to build the studio and the cleanup was done, we started our first beach goat Yoga Classes!
Not long after we started the classes we got hit with a microburst. It completely knocked over our swing set structure, flipped our massive trampoline with a net (remember I had gymnasts) 20 feet in the air and over the fence, knocked down our 5 ft above ground pool, and tore down our entire yoga fence. As chaotic as that was, every animal was safe and that was all that mattered. We cleaned up and beach goat yoga classes were back on track. Now, for the best part of this experience so far, beach goat Yoga was working with Arizonians for Children, which is a non-profit organization for foster kids. These children are always able to sign up with their mentor for our classes that we have scheduled just for them. They are invited to come back as many times as they desire. Seeing the smiles on their faces and the pure joy in their hearts was exactly what I planned to accomplish with beach goat Yoga.
